The walk as pursuit, spirituality, a process of growing but also listening, along which discover once more the values and traditions of a certain territory.The Francigena International Arts Festival is back in the Tuscan part of the Via Francigena, in the district of Lucca.
Born in the 2010, the Festival aims to connect through music the stages of the ancient pilgrimage route. An itinerary that traditionally connected Canterbury to Rome, subject during the last years to an important process of promotion and revitalization, as happened to the famous Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
More than 15 events, curated by the Music Academy F.Geminiani of Altopascio, are taking place in Summer in the towns along the Francigena in the districts of Lucca, as Procari, Altopascio, Galleno, Corsanico, and the same Lucca. Included in the program, a lot of classical music with the Francigena Orchestra, the young talents of Masterclasses, amazing solo singers and the presence, on June 26 in Porcari, of the Sinphonic Orchestra of Saremo.
The composer Luis Bacalov and the actor and musician Peppe Servillo will also take part to the Festival. Apart from classical music, wine tastings, days of studies and conferences on the Via Francigena world, walks along ancient trails, popolar music and jazz.
