This part of the Via Francigena is certainly one of the most picturesque and will give you the opportunity to discover the beautiful Val d’Orcia, quintessential Tuscan landscape and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will enjoy long walks through rolling hills, vineyards, fields of poppies in spring and wild cyclamens in autumn. You will notice, above all, that the views have remained virtually unchanged over the centuries. And the fact that you walk along roads that date back to Roman times will give you the impression of living back into the history of the places you visit.
You will have the opportunity and the time to visit beautiful medieval villages and historical villages scattered along the Via Francigena, a long succession of fascinating hamlets in southern Tuscany and northern Lazio.
