The final part of the route leading to Dover is a gentle path that crosses the countryside and from where you can quickly see swinging reflections upon the North Sea.
The Waldershare Park estate offers an interesting point of view over the route with the Belvedere Tower, a great house and adjacent stalls. Later, you will meet the path « White Cliffs Country Trail » that follows the line designed by the gorgeous white English coast cliffs, and that go on downhill towards the arrival. Dover Castle is located just near, as other incredible must-see reachable from this marine segment the Via Francigena. You soon arrives at the end of the North Downs Way, where it’s possible to explore this famous harbour city with its regular trips across the sea.

Take the ferry from the Dover east quays to Calais (from € 34 – all seasons as pedestrian). 1 departure per hour 24 h / 24 (but limited services on board between 11 pm and 8 am). The crossings between the harbours of Dover and Calais from city centre can be roamed walking (short distance) or by bus.
