The urban arrangement is the effect of the floods of Po river. Torre de’ Negri is located 15 km from Pavia, not so far from River Po and it covers an overall area of 4,2 km². According to some documents, the original name of Torre de’ Negri was “Casa degli Scanati” (Domus Scanatorum) or “Torre degli Scanati” (Turris de Scanatis).
The urban arrangement is the effect of the floods of Po river, which in the past have often struck the village; the most severe flood occurred in 1786. Today Torre de’ Negri is an agricultural centre and the cultivation of the poplar is very important. The parish church is dedicated to Anthony the Great and it was built in 1394 by Umbertino Negri. The Patron’s day is January, 17th.
