The 17th June is indeed the date of the Francigena Val di Susa Marathon, 42 km of history along the routes, white and asphalt roads of the Francigena along the Burdigalense, crossing ancient medieval sites. The event will begin in Avigliana, the city of two lakes, to then reach the Sacra di San Michele, the Certosa di Banda to arrive at the historical centre of Susa, an ancient crossroad of pilgrim routes. Registration opens the 7th January (find the web link here).
After the summer another certain marathon date is the 30th September 2018, the day of the Francigena Tuscany Marathon. After the success of the first edition, the Tuscan Francigena marathon of 42 km will retun to allow thousands of participants to walk from Pietrasanta to Lucca once more. Registration opens the 1st April. At the end of the marathon season, the World Francigena Ultramarathon will be proposed once more, 120 km from Siena to Acquapendente. The date of the event will be established shortly.
