Miles Skinner, an English marathon runner, set off from Lucca on the 25th of April for a real challenge: running 420 km, the equivalent of ten marathons, in 7 days, following the Via Francigena from Lucca to Rome.

Miles runs to raise funds for the Monte San Martino Trust, an English charity that offers scholarships to deserving Italian students, founded to repay the Italian people who during the World War II gave shelter to allied war prisoners.
AEVF and sloWays have been partners in the organization of the travel, assisting Miles in the itinerary definition and booking of accomodation along the path.
