In 2016 the Jubilee launched by the Francis Pope and the « Year of walking » launched by the Italian Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be celebrate. At the same time the European Association of Via Francigena will celebrate the 15th anniversary. An important Forum will take place in Monteriggioni on 30th January 2016.
Monteriggioni Municipality (Siena) in collaboration with the European Association Via Francigena (EAVF), will organise the III Forum for the Via Francigena Tuscan municipalities and for professionals who work in the framework of tourism and in hospitality. The event will take place on January 30th 2016 in Abbadia Isola historical complex. Signposting, maintenance of the path, services for pilgrims and promotion are the topics that will be discussed. This international meeting would provide to reinforce the cooperation among the tourist offices and accommodations for pilgrims. Many important partners will be invited to the Forum as Canterbury, Reims, Champagne-Ardenne Region, Chablais Region, Valais Canton
