The “Bike-Grill San Michele” project has been launched in Chiusa San Michele at the foot of the abbey on the Via Francigena.

A structure of the existing sports centre has been adapted to include a catering service, a help point for small emergency bike repairs and a new sports activity offer, with services also relating to mountain bike activities.

The young project provides, in addition to the immediate opening of a restaurant, a repair assistance point and a service dedicated to solving simple problems. The service won’t replace the established workshops of the territory, but focuses on providing basic assistance on public holidays, orienting itself around services for tourists.

The structure therefore aims to be a logistics platform for outdoor activities, also relying on the management of the camping and picnic areas, which is due to be analysed from a new perspective of use, a project aims to expand the range of services over the coming months; it could also be an interesting service experience for users of the future Ciclovia Francigena della Valle di Susa*.

After the success of the first Bike-grill, based on motorway services, of the Sangone Park in Rivalta di Torino, Piedmont, Bikehub, a consulting and logistics cycling company, has increased its experience of services which  provide support for cycling tourism by creating another service point in Valle di Susa and making it operational.

The decision to invest in this territory was given by the territorial planning project in the field of cycling, as directed by the Montana Union of Valle di Susa: “Bike area Valle di Susa” provides a set of intangible and infrastructural actions and plans to favor cycling in the area and to establish the vocation of outdoor tourism in the area.

Jacopo Spatola “The Bike area is an organic project, which Bikehub partners, it’s therefore natural for our company to want to operate and invest in this territory and thus be able to contribute to affirming a vocation of outdoor tourism in this area“.

Fabrizio Borgesa “This private investment is also important and strategic in relation to the projects of the Pellegrino Hostel tourist facility, a project financed by the region of Piedmont, whose work will begin next year. It’s a structure that contributes to the development of ad hoc tourist services along the pedestrian Via Francigena and the Ciclovia Francigena”.

Come to the launch of the new Bike-grill San Michele on Saturday 18th May at 15.00 in Via Roma 52, Chiusa di San Michele.
