THE EV5-VRF has been coordinated by the University of Lancashire in partnership with organizations in charge of national cycle routes networks, municipalities, departments, European networks and specialized tourism enterprises from 5 European countries. It started on 1st April and run for 18 months. The European Association of the Via Francigena has coordinated the Work Package 2, devoted to the product development. The EAVF has thus carried out its task in cooperation with the European Cyclist Federation – responsible for the transfer of the methodology related to the Eurovelo label certification standards –as well as with all partners which mapped the Via Francigena by bike in their respective territories and outline local action plans. A transnational action plan, tourism packages and joint promotion and communication activities were also developed.
