The team members of the European Association of the Via Francigena ways EAVF will travel along the Swiss section of the Via Francigena from 26 July till 8 August 2020.
Luca Bruschi, EAVF director, and Elena Dubinina, EAVF international relations advisor, will walk along the route from Orbe to the Grand Saint Bernard Pass, one of the most fascinating points of the Via Francigena, during a 10-day trip.
The team will walk 200 km exploring the route in Swiss Cantons Valais and Vaud exploring the route as well as conducting important meetings with representatives of local authorities, tourism offices and stakeholders to reinforce the network.
The team will prepare photo and video materials and will also write a travel blog on the Via Francigena website and social media on Facebook and Instagram, narrating about their experience. The experience will be also broadcasted on the Radio Francigena
This project provides a significant opportunity for the Swiss members to enhance the Swiss route and slow tourism in times of the tourism recovery.

Luca Bruschi is the director of the European Association of the Via Francigena ways EAVF, he is also in the editing board of the magazine “Via Francigena and the European Cultural Routes”, a free-lance journalist and a passionate pilgrim. Luca walked along four routes of the Saint James’ ways, Stevenson route and the Italian stretch of the Via Francigena.
Elena Dubinina is a cultural routes and international relations advisor to the EAVF. She also works as an independent expert on various projects in the sustainable tourism and route development. Passionate about cultural discoveries, she travels around the world with a backpack in her free time.
