On 13 and 14 September the second partnership meeting of the project “From Europe to Turkey on Foot (Preparation of a European cultural route between Europe and Turkey)” will take place in Thessaloniki (Greece).The meeting will tackle with the opportunity to connect the cultural route of the Council of Europe of the Via Francigena with Turkey, enhancing the ancient Roman road of the Via Egnatia, in cooperation with local territorial actors in Albania, FYROM and Greece.

Fostering intercultural dialogue through the enhancement of common cultural heritage is one of the objectives of the project  From Europe to Turkey on Foot (Preparation of a European cultural route between Europe and Turkey) which is co-funded by the Civil Society Dialogue IV Programme – Regional Policy and coordination of Structural instruments. As project partner, EAVF has been in charge of transferring European good practices along the Via Francigena, concerning network governance, development, promotion and enhancement of this European cultural route.
