The Via Francigena from San Miniato to Siena can be defined as a concentrate of the Tuscan experience: hills, vineyards and woods, villages and castles, rivers and streams. Everything that is the imagination of Tuscany is perfectly embodied by these four days of trekking. The Via Francigena engages the legs but frees the mind and will leave us with a perfect feeling in our hearts and eyes.
115 km of walking along one of the most beautiful and exciting stretches of the entire Via Francigena with two cities of art of extraordinary beauty to frame our steps: Lucca and Siena. The proposed itinerary winds mainly along white roads and joins small jewel towns such as San Gimignano and Monteriggioni, offering a wonderful introduction to the landscape of the Sienese hills.
The journey along the Via Francigena from San Miniato to Siena is a journey that engages the legs but not the mind. We will walk calmly, even distancing ourselves from each other, because the morphology of the paths and roads travelled allows this.
It is a journey for those who want to disconnect completely from the daily routine and experience the dimension of the walk where the only problems, which are not problems at all, are the climbs up the hills and the sore feet at the end of the day.
The setting is that of central Tuscany: hills, villages and vineyards, rich in history and beauty.
Breakfasts are between 7 and 8 a.m. and departures between 8 and 9 a.m. Only on the last day will we leave a little earlier to reach Siena for the return train.
Walking times are between 5 and 8 a.m. and arrivals at the hotel are between 5 and 6.30 p.m.
