Via Francigena

The signage on the CicloVia

The path of the CicloVia Francigena is signalled from the Great St Bernard Hill to Rome with adhesive bands and white-blue arrows, with the writing “CicloVia Francigena” and/or the symbol of the pilgrim enclosed by a bike wheel.

The signage is usually placed on poles and supports next to crossroads and, in case there are not, it is placed every 300-350 metres.

It is a very practical light signage, however it is easily removable or damageable. Therefore it is sometimes not enough, in particular while crossing cities and especially entering Rome. We already pointed out the importance to place aluminium signage to local administrations.
