After crossing the bridge over the river Ognon, there is the first commune in the county of Doubs: Cussey-sur-l’Ognon.

We are approaching Besançon and the countryside is giving way to a more active and urbanized life. It is the place where we meet the TGV station “Besançon Franche-Comté”, which is very important because it can be a point of departure or stop to reach the Via Francigena from any place.
