Crossing the deep forests of Haute-Marne, the Via Francigena passes through the village of Mormant and near an old main crossroads of Roman roads whose remains can still be seen near a mausoleum.

Today, the site of the Gallo-Roman mausoleum is integrated to a discovery trail and allows visitors to apprehend the remains of the tomb in their archaeological and geological environment. With the help of informative panels arranged along the course, there are explained the funerary enclosure, the Gallo-Roman road network, quarries of limestone, the lime kiln, the spring...
