[Tuesday 31 October 2023] Pilgrims are urged to be very careful in the Apennine section of the Via Francigena in Berceto (Parma, Emilia-Romagna), where there has been very heavy rain in recent days, leading to landslides and rising water levels.

From Cassio follow the main road of the Cisa 3 km further (mind the traffic, moderate in weekdays and heavy in the week end) later, along excavated streets and bridle paths, reach Castellonchio. The path includes some tracks of the main road to Berceto where there is the Cathedral of S. Moderanno. A group of asphalt roads, excavated streets, and paths lead to Mount Valoria, where there is a breathtaking view.

To get to the hostel of the Passo della Via Francigena, which is located along the main road 2 km from Passo della Cisa, you have to take a marked path on the right up the hill to the Mount Valoria.
