San Gimignano

San Gimignano is a town of 7,105 inhabitants in the province of Siena. It has become famous for its medieval towers. It has become famous for its medieval towers and is a UNESCO world heritage site; the old town has kept its 13th century Middle-Ages shape almost unaltered except for some 19th-20th centuries interventions.

San Gimignano is still surrounded by the original medieval walls. Tourism is the main source of income, together with the production of Vernaccia wine and the cultivation of saffron.
