The area of Issogne is placed on the orographic right side of the Dora Baltea and it has developed around the castle dating back to the 15th century. The municipality of Issogne is part of the Comunità Montana Evançon (Mountain Community Evançon). It is placed on the orographic right side of the Dora Baltea, in a flat area. Issogne covers an overall area of 23.77 km² and in the most part of it there are woods. The temperate climate has favoured the agricultural work which was a source of support for the inhabitants in the past.
In the Middle Ages the village has developed around the imposing castle of the 15th century. It has been built where before there was a villa of imperial Roman age. Today the inhabitants work especially in the industry, that it has spread in the area, and in the sector of the construction. However, people continue working also in the fields.
