Master’s in Territorial Cultural Tourism, Competition Extended

The deadline for the admission to the 1st level Master's degree in "Turismo Culturale dei Territori" 2018-19 at the University of Parma has been extended to 7th December.

The course is aimed at triennial or magistral graduates who intend to qualify in the field of cultural tourism, to be able to develop strategies for territorial development in support of public bodies or private companies. The Master's course aims to train "Designers in Cultural Tourism of Territories", high profile figures that will prepare the organic technical-legal legislation of cultural heritage and tourism, as well as in-depth cultural, economic-managerial and communication-information skills to enhance the resources that constitute the cultural heritage of particular territorial areas.

The "Designers" will be able to identify the strategic growth of tourism in the territory of reference, so as to be fully integrated in the processes of tourism enhancement in both public and private contexts.

The courses will deal with technical-juridical, cultural-communicative and economic-managerial issues, thanks to collaboration between the departments of Law, Political and International Studies, Humanities, Social and Cultural Affairs (DUSIC) and Economic and Business Sciences at University of Parma. Admission to the course is subject to passing the selection test based on qualifications and interview to ascertain the candidate's motivation.

The new deadlines:

  • 7th December 2018: online registration for the admission and payment of admission fees closes,
  • 11th December 2018: selection deadline,
  • 20th December 2018: publication of admissions and opening of registrations,
  • 10th January 2018: registrations and payment of the registration tax closes.

Admission to the course is subject to passing the selection test based on qualifications and an interview to ascertain the candidate's motivation. The venue for the selection is the Aula della Bandiera in the department of Law, Political and International Studies, Palazzo centrale, via Università 12, Parma.

The training course, which will last from January to December 2019 for a total of 1,500 hours (final exam between January and March 2020), will be divided into lecture and seminar teaching, integrative activities of a practical-operational nature and training internships or project work at public and private entities. The Master’s is aimed at those with a three-year, five-year, specialist or master's degree. The possession of a bachelor's degree related to one of these fields is preferred: legal, political and international relations, humanitarian, sociological or economic.

The Master’s is sponsored by the European Association of Via Francigena Ways (EAVF). The association supports the creation of training modules and will contribute the good practices spread along the European territory of the Via Francigena. Training courses are also available for young students and to develop thematic project work related to the Via Francigena.
