The European Association of the Via Francigena ways EAVF launched its annual award “European Best Practice”.
This initiative praises innovative cultural management and honours forward-looking cultural projects along the Francigena route from Canterbury to Santa Maria Di Leuca crossing England, France, Switzerland and Italy. The award enhances visibility of the European cultural route and its destinations and promotes networking among the EAVF members and stakeholders.
The EAVF members and friends’ associations have submitted their cutting-edge projects focused on events, reinterpretation of heritage and valorisation of Sigeric’s route. The most significant and innovative projects will constitute a database of best practices which will be available to the EAVF members for knowledge sharing and awareness-raising.
Three finalists were presented during the EAVF General Assembly on 23 October 2020. The handcrafted yellow pilgrim statues made by Artio Design from Aosta were given in categories “Grand Prix” and “Special Mention”.
