The Via Francigena in France is considered a "great excursion" route within the Council of Europe Cultural Routes Programme. Since 2016, the municipality of Ornans (Burgundy-Franche-Comté) has been committed to increasing services along the way to facilitate pilgrims and hikers who follow the Via Francigena.
The Via Francigena in France takes another step forward. Thanks to the agreement signed on 14th September between the EAVF (European Association of Via Francigena Ways) and FFRP (Fédération Française de la RandonnéePédestre), the complete section of the route in France- reported as GR145®- isavailable on the website www.viefrancigene.org.
The cultural routes of the Council of Europe, paths of faith and new meetings: this is the title of the day scheduled for 27th November at the Palais d'Europe in Strasbourg, organised by the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the Council of Europe.
The General Assembly of the European Association of Via Francigena Ways will take place on 9th November 2018 in Ivrea, at the Giacosa Theatre. Members and friends of the Association from England, France, Switzerland and Italy will be present, as well as all those interested in the European route.

The deadline for participation in the literary prize "Intanto Parto ... tales and prose on the road" has been extended. The entries may be sent in until 18th November 2018 (the first deadline was 15th October 2018).
The announcement for a 1st level Master's Degree in "Cultural Tourism of the Territories" 2018-19 has been published on the University of Parma website, aimed at graduates or Master’s graduates who intend to qualify in the field of cultural tourism. They will become able to elaborate territorial development strategies to support public bodies or private companies.
