The EAVF live broadcasts continue to explore the Via Francigena and the worlds of routes and itineraries to accompany you until we start walking again on our beloved paths!
During our first ten LIVE meetings on the EAVF Facebook page we discovered various sections of the route and discussed the philosophy of the journey. These broadcasts saw an extraordinary participation and interaction: more than 150,000 people from all over the world were reached!
That is why we decided to continue organising live meetings. Enormous public interest in the topics discussed made us understand how useful and necessary it is to "meet" each other to talk about what makes us feel good and which concerns our near future on walking and cycling itineraries!
The interest and participation in 5 off-calendar events about the Via Francigena of the South has also been extraordinary. We thank our pilgrims and walkers for their participation!
We are approaching the upcoming cycle of broadcasts as concrete and operational as possible to share new state directives and measures. The Via Francigena countries are preparing for a new phase of a partial reopening and we are confident that we can move the muscles this summer although with some limits. That is why we want to think together with you about potential solutions for critical issues facing slow tourism, such as hospitality, use of masks, managing guided groups etc.
We do not pretend to give exhaustive answers, as the future scenario is still too uncertain and we would not have an authority and expertise in some areas, however, together we can develop some creative ideas and proposals on how to move on and to contribute solving critical issues that arise.
All of this will be discussed in live broadcasts we have chosen to offer you!
We also add six thematic meetings dedicated to the route’s final destination or let us rephrase – final destinations along the Via Francigena: Canterbury, Rome, Bari, Monte Sant'Angelo, Brindisi and Santa Maria di Leuca.
Next meetings will talk to travellers, cyclists and enthusiasts along the European Via Francigena with the direct emissions conducted in different languages depending on the guests.
Luca Bruschi, EAVF director and Angelofabio Attolico, EAVF technical manager for the Via Francigena in the South will coordinate the broadcasts.
