The “Cité des électriciens” was built between 1856 and 1861 to house the miners of the Bruay pit n°1 and their families. Thanks in particular to its exceptional state of preservation, it has contributed to the recognition of the Nord-Pas de Calais mining basin as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
