Borgo Gallinaio is one of Italy’s best kept secrets, offering the perfect base from which to explore the treasures of Tuscany before returning to the tranquillity of the Le Crete Senesi hills.
We are located in the beautiful Province of Siena on a private 80-acre site surrounded by lush Olive groves and old oak trees that have been grown over the centuries. Terraces of vines tumble from the country house to meadows below, affording panoramic views across the valley and magnificent views of the medieval fortress castle of Monteriggioni. The local wild life includes wild boar and deer, which roam effortlessly and freely within the grounds.
Built in traditional style, this fifteenth century farm has been tastefully restored in traditional rustic stone, yet still retains its original charm.
In Borgo Gallinaio is possible to taste wine and food Tuscany delicacies, such as the famous Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino wines, cocktails and drinks, assorted cheeses, salamis, fresh fruits and vegetables, hand-made ice-creams and pastry.
The main building comprises 12 large double bedrooms (total of 28 beds) each complete with its own satellite TV, mini-bar, air-conditioning and en-suite shower/bathroom. Each bedroom is exquisitely decorated and furnished in traditional Tuscan rustic style with wood beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. Access to the house and bedrooms is via a spacious courtyard. There are also two terraces and a separate lounge/study, bar area and dining room. A conference centre, which can also be adapted for training course, and a gym are located in a separate building on the estate. The swimming pool is accessible via a walkway surrounded by olive trees and woodland and there is ample space for outdoor activities such as cycling, walking and archery.
We can also arrange special excursions to places of interest and cultural events taking within the Province of Siena and other parts of Tuscany.
