The hostel is located inside a medieval village built in the XI century around the benedictine Abbey of San Salvatore, and it is four kms far from Monteriggioni. It was founded by a noble woman, Ava of the Lambardi family, from whom it takes the name, and it has always been, since Middle Age, a stopping place and hospital for pilgrims and travellers along the Via Francigena. Nowadays it has been restored and turned into a hostel with double and multiple rooms as well, that overlook a wide cloister from an ancient stone open gallery.
